In June 2005 I decided to build my own 1:1 scale aluminum R2D2 and since that time I have been building my own parts and gathering others. As of March 2007, I now have 97% of the parts needed to finish this project. R2 will be operated by a 9 channel remote control unit allowing me to have several surprises pop out. I plan to give R2 to my kids in return for their understanding and patience for my 737 simulator project. I also plan to take R2D2 to local hospitals and where ever I can bring a smile to a child's face.
I will not be going into as much detail as my 737 sim page, mainly because web pages get boring to update and maintain

Checking the skin placement. I am using 2 layers of skins to give depth. I have removed the majority if the door panels so that I can glue the skins together

Luke's Land Speeder
A friend of mine is building a scale Land Speeder and will driven by a electric cart with a top speed of 25 mph
I parked my truck next to it to give scale, around 15'
The orange tint is from all the smoke from the surrounding brush fires
Land Speeder appears to "hover"
